Position Objectives
*Work one-to-one or with small groups of students.
*Assist teacher with translation for students.
*Assist teachers with preparing resources (printing, laminating).
*Support teaching activities such as ECAs, play time, lunch time, homework prep or house activities.
*Support student during field trip, outside school ECAs.
*Actively involved in classroom behavior management.
*Actively supervising children on the playground, interacting with all pupils and building good relationships.
*Helping on school outings or at school events.
* Be school bus monitor if necessary.
*Translate for parent consultations. Interpret or translate, to build a smooth communication between parents and head of primary.
*Emphasis on getting to know children – focus on education and positive reinforcement.
*Marking Prep Books – if two or more mistakes, prep books must be taken to the class teacher.
*TAs not to be on phone in class – they must take active roles in lessons.
*Assemblies – phones not to be used.
*Swimming – Two TAs to accompany swimming groups (one to supervise *** changing room and one to supervise *** changing room).
*Helping follow up homework corrections.
*Lining Up Children – Western and Chinese staff need to be consistent with this across the school.
*Take active role in behavior management in class, ensuring all pupils following rules of the classroom (tidying up, lining up, lunchtime rules).
*Participates appropriately in class and stay focused on both the students, teacher instructions and learning tasks.
*TA to work initially with pupils with learning/behavioral issues.
*TA to be interested in working with the class teacher, subject teachers, and heads of school.
*Escorts student to the school gate if the student goes home at 5:15 pm.
*Communicates with student’s parents on a daily basis.
